14. I presented a paper on the Manitoba Treaty negotiations at the Austin meeting of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association on May 30, 2014.

13. On February 20, 2014 as part of the Métis Role Model Series, I spoke with Camosun College students in Victoria on issues facing Metis in post-secondary education.

12. I discussed the centrality of the Manitoba Treaty in Canadian Confederation on February 5, 2014 for the  University of Manitoba’s Native Studies Colloquium.

11. I presented a paper on the Métis Diplomatic Tradition at the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association, on June 13, 2013 at the University of Saskatchewan.

10. Joining leading Métis studies scholars for a two-day round table, I was invited to discuss Métis Hisotry at the University of Ottawa, March 22-24 2013 for the Plains Métis as Tribe? Conference.

9. I presented a paper about Métis-Hudson’s Bay Company relations at UMass-Amherst for the Competing Visions: Changing Landscapes in the Past, Present, and Future Conference, on March 9, 2013.

8. I spoke on the importance of treaty relations in resolving colonial relationships at the Yale Idle No More Teach-In, on January 28,  2013 at Yale University.

7. At the Yale Group for the Study of Native America on December 4, 2012, I argued for the recognition of the Manitoba Treaty between the Metis people and the Dominion of Canada.

6. I presented a paper on the Canadianization of Louis Riel at the Fourth Annual Native American and Indigenous Studies Association Fourth Annual Conference, on June 6, 2012, in Uncasville, Connecticut.

5. In November 2011, I discussed Metis values with the Metis Nation of Greater Victoria.

4. I spoke at the Thinking {The Colonial} Politically session at the Cultural, Social and Political Thought Symposium at UVic on April 15, 2011.

3. At the Second Annual Native American and Indigenous Studies Association Annual Conference in Tucson on May 22, 2010, I presented a research paper on Metis family governance.

2. I discussed ethical community based research at UVic’s Indigenous research symposium Caneuel: Indigenous Centered Research and Pathways to Community Regeneration, on 22 March 2010.

1.  In May 2009, during the First Annual Native American and Indigenous Studies Association Annual Conference at the University of Minnesota, I presented a paper on urban Metis community politics.
